EasyClimber® System

The EasyClimber® System is a family of products for a variety of vertical structures and climbing applications, which when used with the patented Monkey™ Attachment Device provides a highly functional, robust and cost effective safety solution.

The system is designed to be the most functional, reliable and safe vertical climbing solution available in the market today. The unique design features ensure the worker remains as close to the structure as possible during climbing, which, in the event of a fall means that they travel only a very short distance before fall arrest when compared to other products on the market. This reduces the forces on the user and the structure, mitigates the risk of injuries from collisions and therefore reduces the potential need for rescue.

The product has been designed to be cost effective without compromising quality or safety. This makes it especially interesting for operators of large utilities networks such as telecoms, electricity and wind farm operators. It is of course equally suitable for industrial safety applications such as safe climbing of ladders to access roofs, chimney stacks, silos, lighting columns, ships masts, theme park rides, bridges and many, many more.

Minimal moving parts, the properties of the cable and high grade materials ensure long life expectancy, low cost of ownership and add up to a sound investment.

The EasyClimber system has an extension bracket to enable safe access and egress at roof level, a problem which can often be overlooked when a ladder is manufactured and fitted with a safety system.

EasyClimber Cable

A tensioned 8mm, 1 x 19 construction, stainless steel cable runs the length of the climbing area, supported at intervals that suit site conditions by intermediate cable supports. The Monkey® Attachment Device allows hands free continuous movement on the system, bypassing the intermediate supports without the need for user intervention.

Rail for Existing Ladders

Traditional permanent ladders have hoops or cages to give the user confidence during use. These do not offer fall protection. In such cases vertical guide rails can be retrofitted to provide continuous connection during ascent and descent.

The guide rail can be positioned centrally by fixing to the existing rungs or to the side by fixing to the ladder stiles.

We supply a maintenance free vertical fall protection system consisting of rail sections fixed directly to a ladder. The trolley device slides up and down the rail attached to the operative via a safety harness allowing complete freedom of movement and hands-free operation. The system provides the flexibility to work and rest at any point on the rail in total safety and also provides protection whilst installing.

PivotLoc Folding Ladder System

PivotLoc - the new foldable permanent fall arrest ladder system.

PivotLoc is a foldable ladder system with incorporated GlideLoc fall protection rail. In the closed position, the rungs pivot together behind the central glide rail. This offers an aesthetically pleasing solution and controlled access.

There are 2 system options:

GlideLoc

A permanent height access system allowing for heavy usage year after year with minimal maintenance while offering increased safety and improving user comfort. The systems incorporate a travelling device that provides the link between the user's harness and the system. It runs up and down the track following the user's direction of travel. In a fall, the travelling device locks onto the track to stop the fall.

GlideLoc Fall Protection ladders provide a safe and controlled means of vertical access whilst working where fall risks exist. The system is used throughout the world in industries such as Utilities, Telecommunications, Construction and Building Maintenance.

GlideLoc offers employers, designers and users a safe, aesthetically pleasing and cost effective alternative to traditional hooped ladders. The most popular Glide-Loc design is the "Y Spar" - the fall protection rail forms a unique central stile to which the rungs connect.

A shock absorbing travelling device called the "Comfort" runs along the track and provides the link between the users harness and the system. With a very slight outward pull as the user climbs or descends, smooth passage is assured. In the event of a fall the comfort physically locks onto the track preventing and further decent and minimising injury. As the locking of the traveller does not rely on friction, as is the case with some rail and cable systems, the user is given complete confidence and wear of the track is minimal.

Ladder Extension Brackets

In order to ensure that workers climbing ladders to access roofs and other platforms for maintenance and inspection tasks can mount and demount the ladder in complete safety, Scorpio Safety Systems Ltd have introduced a new range of ladder extension brackets.

The brackets, which have been designed for maximum ease of installation, clamp to a wide range of existing ladder styles and allow the EasyClimber vertical climbing system to extend 1.3m above the working platform. The brackets have an additional attachment eye which has been tested to the European Standard EN795 for Class A Anchor devices.

Often the most dangerous part of access is to and from a platform when using a fixed ladder. Having a stable extension bracket combined with an anchor point at the top to assist getting on and off the ladder safely is of great benefit to the user and significantly reduces the risk of a fall occurring.

The ladder extension bracket can be used in conjunction with all EasyClimber Systems or as a stand alone anchor point for the attachment of a fall arrest device, such as a retractable lanyard or rope and rope grab.
